Tadcaster Market

Tadcaster Market first received its Royal Charter in 1270. A stone base,
believed to have been part of the original market cross stood on
Westgate where the Tadcaster War Memorial now stands. For many years the
market was located in Market Place (the cobbled area outside Costa
Coffee and Room 3). After moving to several different locations it found
its current home a few years ago in the Social Club car park, off Joseph
Street. The market is held on Thursdays. It’s open from early morning
and usually closes at around 2 pm. There is ample on-street parking
close by. Several stall holders have supported the market for a number
of years and there is a loyal band of regular shoppers. If you have a
new business or product you would like to sell or promote at the market
then please get in touch. The market is managed by Tadcaster Social Club
and you can contact them on 01937 833498. And of course they would love
to welcome you as a new shopper – call in and take a look.
